Job Description Job Description Description: Maintain facilities (including off-campus facilities), grounds and vehicles, with the goal of keeping company vehicles and the physical plant (building, grounds) clean, stocked, safe, and in good working order at all times. Facilities Tech I participates in executing repairs and preventive maintenance to shelter systems, and renovation projects. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: On a regular basis maintain proper lighting, including but not limited to, replacing bulbs, ballasts and batteries. Repair and maintain plumbing system as required, including but not limited to, pumps, valves, flow controls, domestic water valves, faucets, drains and related piping. Regular maintenance of boilers, rooftop A/C units, air washer systems and vent/stack piping and related components. On a regular basis repair and maintain architectural components of the building including but not limited to: door hardware, closers and handsets. In addition, repair drywall and brick enclosures, perform painting as required. As needed repair or replace fencing and animal enclosures. Perform general maintenance of company vehicles and equipment on a regular basis including but not limited to: oil changes, lube and belt replacement. As needed conduct general cleaning of equipment rooms, common areas, office space and company vehicles. Execute floor finishing at specified intervals. Maintain adequate mechanical and custodial inventories at all times. Conduct pick-up and delivery of animal food and supplies. As required assist other maintenance personnel with projects. At all times follow safety rules and workplace safety guidelines. Responsible for assigned work orders; complete all assigned duties in a timely manner. When necessary, wear appropriate personal protection equipment such as hard hat, gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection. Other duties as directed by supervisor/manager. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be knowledgeable about facilities maintenance issues. Must understand and be familiar with issues of maintenance, repair, and safety of buildings, structures, equipment and vehicles. Prior experience preferred. Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function and requirement of this job, with availability weekends. Mature, professional and articulate in both speech and written word. High attention to detail. Able to work with a diverse group of individuals. Team-oriented attitude. Attention to giving excellent customer service. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary communication. A valid New Mexico driver’s license is required. Clean driving record and ability to be insured by SFAS carrier to drive fleet vehicles. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
