Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
Summary
Directs the dealership's financial planning and accounting practices, as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Essential Duties

Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate and insurance activities for the dealership.
Works closely with the dealer on long-range planning, cash management and funds allocation.
Understands the company business model for generating customer value and translates the operational metrics into measures for performance. The CFO is the scorekeeper using tools like the balanced scorecard, dashboards, and financial statement ratio analysis to communicate both the company's expected and actual financial performance.
Maintains relationships with financial institutions on matters of lines of credit and funds management. Ensuring that the dealership has access to capital to support business needs and growth.
Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the dealership's policies and operations.
Directs the office manager in providing and managing the procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the dealership's annual report.
Appraises the dealership's financial position and issues periodic financial and operating reports.
Maintains close working relationships with accountants to ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and maintenance of a dealership financial structure designed to minimize tax liabilities.
Maintains close working relationship with legal counsel to ensure that all dealership financial activities are properly conducted, documented, and reported.
Assists the dealer and general manager with cash flow management by working with the office manager to follow contracts-in-transit, accounts receivable and purchaser loan payoffs.
Assists the general manager in preparing financial projections and budgets for each retail facility.
Negotiates relationships with insurers to provide insurance coverage and other benefits.
Represents the dealer as a personal agent within the dealership and at functions outside the dealership.
Supports the company's accounting and financial functions using job descriptions, policies and procedures and identifies opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and automation.
Oversee payroll operations and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll.
Hands on user of the dealerships' software systems related to accounting, finance, HR, and compliance. Provide backup as needed for any of these functions.
Performs balance sheet review monthly with Dealer and GM.
Ensures all scheduled accounts are maintained daily, weekly, monthly as needed by schedule
Maintains the contract log for dealership
Maintains and reviews lease obligations for dealership
Oversee the organization's secondary business units
Responsible for Chalmers and MHQ Financial Statements
Responsible for analyzing account activity
Sets up and monitors recurring expenses to ensure monthly obligations are met
Reconcile bank statements, floor plan lines, inventor
Compliance - Safety, HR, Clinic
Track and maintain approved positions, reports on turnover and seniority
Review all prospective employees' new hire packets and give them to the dealer for final approval.
Ensure accounting office staffing and schedules support business needs.
Manage facility and coordinate repairs and maintenance as needed.
May be called upon to lead or support new business opportunities, software, or other special projects
Oversees the accounting department, HR, and Clinic.
Other tasks as assigned.
