Provides for continuity in decision making and consistency in nursing practice by assuring that nursing and hospital standards and objectives are met. Acts as a resource and support person for the nursing staff. Represents administration during any event occurring in their absence. Embraces and demands a culture of professionalism and accountability. Provides clinical support at the bedside.
