Need profiles by 8/19Curriculum vitae, updated resume, licensures / certifications, currently/valid contact information, Professional Nursing Skills and all relative documents for proposed candidate -One (1) PACU Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room Unit at Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) located in Shiprock, NM. -Period of Performance: Date of award for 6 months with possible extension. -NORTHERN NAVAJO MEDICAL CENTER US HWY 491 SHIPROCK, NM 87420 -WORK SHIFT:The shift hours are 8 hours is assigned for staggering hour of 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5:00pm and 9:00am-5:30pm Monday through Friday in a seniority order.The call starts at the ending of the shift hour for weekdays and weekend hour starts on Saturday morning at 7:30am.Must be able to take a call & respond within 45-60 minutes once they are notified of a surgical case. -Housing: No Government Housing available. -Facility Location: Northern Navajo Medical Center is located in the beautiful high-desert climate of the Four Corners area - where the four states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah adjoin. Northern Navajo Medical Center provides: care services including family medicine, internal medicine, mental health, physical therapy, optometry, dental, social services, pharmacy, x-ray, laboratory, public health nursing, diabetes education, health promotion/disease prevention and outpatient rehabilitation services along with benefits coordination. -Recreation opportunities exist such as camping, fishing, hiking, biking, backpacking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and alpine skiing. Telluride, Durango, Moab, Canyonlands, Grand Gulch, the Colorado River, the San Juan River, several large lakes, and Colorado Wilderness areas are just short drives away. -INITIAL APPOINTMENTS REQUIREMENTS:Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. -Registered Nurse Certification RequirementsSubfactor: a valid and unrestricted State Nursing LicenseSubfactor: a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification with American Heart AssociationSubfactor: a current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification with American Heart AssociationSubfactor: Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) Certification with American Heart Association -Medical Evaluation: The contractor shall provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others. -Immunization: Contractor shall provide evidence of the following:- MMR (measles, Mumps, and Rubella),- Immunity to Hepatitis A and B- Flu Shot- History of chicken pox disease of positive titer- Tetanus Diphtheria (Td) within the last 5 years- Documentation of receiving a TB skin test (PPD) within the past 12 months with documentation of follow-up for a positive test.- A signed delineation of the Hepatitis B vaccination series shall be accepted. -***A copy of the document shall be submitted to the Employee Nurse upon arrival at the hospital before providing service. -Immunization: Contractor shall provide evidence of current immunization documentation for Flu Shot, Immunity to Hepatitis B series, and History of chicken pox (varicella) disease or positive titer, Tetanus Diphtheria (Td) within the last 5 years. Documentation of receiving a TB Mantoux skin test (PPD) within the past 12 months with documentation of follow-up for positive test. -Professional Nursing Skills: 2 years or more OR experience; ASPAN member a plus. -Subfactor: Associate RN Degree, MinimumSubfactor: Circulating role for General Surgery, ENT, Ortho, Oral Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedic, Podiatry, Urology, Pedi Dental and Endoscopy; scrubbing role skills a plus.Subfactor: Familiar with the ASPAN standards, Infection Control, Safety and Joint Commission standards.Subfactor: Ability to function for a schedule surgical and emergency procedure.Subfactor: Ability to work with Electronic Health Record & Barcode Medication Administration ScannersSubfactor: Able to float to other departments upon completion of a float competency skills checklist.Subfactor: Ability & knowledge to learn the different types of equipment. -Licensure: Must possess and maintain current State licensure while employed with Indian Health Service (IHS). -**Note: Northern Navajo Medical Center is a Baby-Friendly Designated Hospital -Licensure: Must possess and maintain current State licensure while employed with Indian Health Service (IHS).
