The references MUST be noted in a separate Word or PDF document and submitted as an attachment. -4 Registered Nurses in the Emergency Room Nursing Department at the Crownpoint Service Unit (CPSU) located in Crownpoint, NM. -Base Period: Period of performance will be based on fingerprinting clearance50 hours a week x 13 weeks = 650 hours -1st Option Period: 50 hours a week x 13 weeks = 650 hours2nd Option Period: 50 hours a week x 13 weeks = 650 hours3rd Option Period: 50 hours a week x 13 weeks = 650 hours -SHIFT: Rotating shifts are 8-10 hours including weekends and Government Holidays. -INITIAL APPOINTMENTS REQUIREMENTS: Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. -Experience: The RN must have a minimum of 3 years of independent clinical nursing experience, including screening/triage. Requires BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications. Needs to have a strong working knowledge with Med/Peds Care within the Emergency Department, caring for all age groups. Needs to be able to identify abnormalities and take appropriate nursing actions. -Professional skills:- Cardiovascular patients- Anatomy & Physiology of all age groups: neonates to geriatrics- Screening/Triage & assess all ages and presentations of symptoms appropriately- Proficient in IV cannulation of all age groups -Equipment skills:- Nihon Khoden monitors- Alaris IVAC pumps- HillRom beds- Avea ventilators- Level 1 Rapid Infuser -****Previous Indian Health Service employment preferred**** -Licensure: Must possess and maintain current State licensure while employed with Indian Health Service (IHS). -Certifications (MANDATORY):- A valid and unrestricted State Nursing License- A current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification- A current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) -Housing: Government housing may be available upon availability. Crownpoint, New Mexico is located 24 miles north of I-40/Thoreau on state highway 371, approximately 55 miles northeast of Gallup, NM and 82 miles south of Farmington, NM. Located in the Northwestern region of New Mexico and on the eastern edge of the Navajo Reservation, with only a few hours drive north to the Southern Rockies, or East to Albuquerque and Santa Fe; World Class skiing and great hiking and fishing opportunities. -
