Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Surgical Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Surgical Technologist – Operating Room Location: Albuquerque, NM Shift Type: 10-Hour Days | Schedule: 4 Days/Week Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and healthcare teams during surgical procedures in a high-volume OR setting. You will be responsible for maintaining sterile technique, preparing the OR, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative process. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare sterile fields and ensure surgical instruments are ready and available - Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures - Accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments pre-, intra-, and post-procedure - Assist with patient skin prep, positioning, and intraoperative monitoring - Ensure proper handling and routing of surgical specimens - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of anatomy, equipment, and surgical techniques - Adhere to aseptic practices and all federal, state, and facility safety standards - Collaborate with team members to support a smooth surgical workflow - Provide supportive care during the preoperative phase Required Education: - High School Diploma or GED - Short-term training in an operating room setting or completion of an accredited surgical technician program Required Certifications & Licensure: - BLS certification Preferred Certifications: - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA - Tech in Surgery Certification – NCCT - Medicaid - Vision - Dental - 401K “We are an equal opportunity employer.
