Albuquerque is a top destination for healthcare professionals, known for its stunning mountain views, vibrant culture, and outdoor activities—making it ideal for travel nurses seeking professional growth and lifestyle enrichment./n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details/n /n - Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102 (New Mexico nursing jobs)/n - Assignment Type: Travel healthcare contract/n - Start Date: January 5, 2026/n - End Date: April 6, 2026/n - Duration: 13-week contract/n - Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)/n - Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)/n - Unit: Medical Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), 9th Floor/n - Patient Ratio: 1:4/n - Unit Size: 12 beds/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1730 - $1780/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience (2 years preferred)/n - Previous travel nursing experience preferred/n - Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)/n - Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CPI preferred)/n - Epic charting experience required/n - Ability to float to all PCU units, Med Surg, and ICU for PCU assignments/n - Weekend and holiday availability (minimum 6 weekend shifts per contract)/n - Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, neuro, and complex medical diagnoses in an IMC setting/n - Manage a 1:4 patient ratio, caring for conditions such as GI bleeds, pneumonia, sepsis, respiratory diseases, and stroke/neuro cases/n - Administer blood products, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and provide central/peripheral line care/n - Perform wound care, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams/n - Float to similar clinical units as needed based on facility requirements/n - Participate in orientation (2 bedside shifts plus hospital orientation) and complete required onsite modules/n /n/n /n Discover the best of Albuquerque while advancing your nursing career in a supportive, innovative healthcare environment.
