Job Description Job Description Required Skills & Experience: -Two (2) years’ current experience required in a 12-plus bed cardiac critical care and/or intensive care unit required. -Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast paced environment. -Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. Required Certifications & Licensure: -State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License. -BLS. -ACLS. -NIHSS. -BLS & ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association Job Summary: -Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. -Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. -Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. -Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. -Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. -Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. -Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. -Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. -Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
