We are seeking motivated, patient-focused professionals to provide essential compensation and pension examinations, as well as separation health assessments across New Mexico. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a rewarding, flexible, and impactful role—helping Veterans receive the care and recognition they deserve. In this role, you'll conduct interview-based assessments and physical examinations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, without prescribing or providing treatment. You'll work on a PRN basis with flexible scheduling, including ½-day and full-day shifts, primarily within Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, and Grants, NM. This position offers the chance to work independently within your own office locations within a 50-mile radius, leveraging your expertise to serve Veterans while maintaining your clinical autonomy. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine Ability to perform interview-based assessments and physical exams Strong communication and organizational skills Knowledge of VA or federal exam protocols preferred Ability to work independently within assigned locations Nice to Have Skills: Previous experience with compensation and pension (C&P) exams Familiarity with veteran healthcare processes Certification in relevant specialties or additional training in military or government healthcare settings Preferred Education and Experience: Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner Experience with VA or government-funded health assessments is a plus Other Requirements: Own office setup within the designated service areas (Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, Grants, NM) Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams to qualify Ability to work PRN, on an ongoing basis Local candidates only; travel included in rates Certification in relevant areas and readiness to complete speedy credentialing and onboarding Compensation: Hourly Rate: $402.00 Flat Rate for Half-Day (4 hours or less): $600 Flat Rate for Full-Day (5 hours or more): $1200 One-Time Bonus: $650 upon completion of training and first exams This rewarding opportunity enables you to support our Veterans through flexible, non-treatment assessments while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing support from our dedicated team.
