Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Rio Rancho, NM Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,974 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Family Birthing Center/Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Two (2) years current experience required License: State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications required Must-Have: - Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Description: Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required. Assess all triage patients over 20 weeks. Use obstetric triage acuity tools. Perform labor assessment and evaluation. Conduct fetal evaluation and assessment. Evaluate patients for labor at term, signs of preterm labor, signs and symptoms of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding, and acute and critical conditions. If an emergency medical condition is determined to exist, stabilize the patient for delivery or transfer to a higher level of care if needed. Provide intrapartum labor assessment, evaluation, and care. Prepare expectant mothers for safe delivery. Administer medications including but not limited to: Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin. Immediately stabilize newborns and administer newborn medications. Prep for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery. Assess and care for postpartum patients (vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients. Newborn care includes but is not limited to: hearing screen, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts and care, medication administration (Hepatitis B, Vitamin K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assisting with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia care. Travelers must pass the BCA testing during the first week of assignment.
