Job Description Allstate Health Solutions is expanding its Platform Engineering organization and seeking a Platform Consultant who can help design, build, and optimize the next generation of our application and data platforms. This role blends hands-on engineering with strategic consulting, enabling teams across the enterprise to adopt modern development practices, cloud-ready architectures, and emerging AI capabilities. You will partner with product, engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure our platforms are scalable, resilient, and aligned with Allstate’s technology strategy. Key Responsibilities - Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering and product teams on platform architecture, modernization, and best practices; build trust and influence with engineering directors, principal engineers, and design leaders to influence backlogs and engineering practices. - Liaison between technical and business leaders, providing direction and guidance of future strategy ensuring the roadmaps for both business and technology align tactically and strategically. - Design and implement platform components using .NET Core, modern API patterns, and cloud-ready architectures; act as a key contributor to the overall landscape of technical architecture that platform consultants contribute to. - Develop and optimize SQL based data solutions, including schema design, performance tuning, and integration patterns. - Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities into platform services, including model consumption, automation, and intelligent workflows. - Lead platform assessments and conduct stakeholder and risk analysis along with problem-solving as high-priority initiatives arise and critical decisions need to be made. - Influence Discovery and Framing sessions across the entire ecosystem, engaging in applying simplicity to achieve desired outcomes. - Demonstrate subject matter expertise and consider input from the Community of Platform in reaching decisions, enabling strategies/patterns, and when handling ECC red-to-green situations. - Apply industry standards and engage in emerging technologies, filtering important findings to the rest of the community to ensure platform solutions meet enterprise standards. - Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure platform solutions meet regulatory and governance requirements. - Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and automation strategies to improve developer experience and delivery velocity. - Provide technical mentorship, documentation, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams. Required Qualifications - 7 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture. - Strong proficiency in .NET Core, including API development, microservices, and distributed systems. - Deep experience with SQL (T SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, relational modeling). - Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code. - Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast paced, evolving environment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in the health insurance or regulated industry domain. - Exposure to event driven architectures, messaging systems, or data streaming platforms. - Hands on experience with Azure AI services, ML Ops, or enterprise AI integration patterns. - Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, model integration, or AI driven application features. - Background in platform governance, standards development, or enterprise architecture. - Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and containerization using tools such as (Docker/Kubernetes) LI-NJ1 Skills API Development, Architectural Design, Cloud Computing, Cloud Platform, Compliance, Containerization, Design, DevOps, Distributed Systems, Docker (Software), Enterprise Architecture, Kubernetes, Microservices Architecture, Microsoft Azure, Performance Tuning, Platform Architecture, Platform Engineering, Reference Architectures, Strategic Solutions Compensation Compensation offered for this role is 134,000.00 - 209,750.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
