Job Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY Plan, coordinate, direct, and design all
operational activities of the Information Technology (IT)
department, as well as provide direction and support for IT
solutions that enhance mission-directed business operations.
Collaborate directly with the executive management team and
decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend,
develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions
for all aspects of Housing New Mexico while also maintaining a
cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES The intent of this job description is to provide a
representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities
performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to
perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented
in this description. · Supervise employees, which includes
prioritization and assignment of work; conduct performance
evaluations; ensure employees are trained; ensure employees follow
policies and procedures; maintain a healthy and safe working
environment; and, make hiring, termination, and disciplinary
recommendations. · Direct the activities of the department, which
includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating
projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards; ensure
compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes,
and/or standards. Manage, plan, and operate MFA's information
systems. · Responsible for the ongoing IT needs of Housing New
Mexico staff, programs and manage IT resources in support of these
needs. · Coordinate the process for evaluating software development
decisions. · Oversee software application development and
installations. · Analyze processes, procedures and state of the art
technology solutions to determine company-wide system needs and
efficient, effective process flows. · Oversee audit and budget
activities for the department. · Maintain hardware replacement plan
and implement as needed. · Develop and implement system
availability, security and disaster recovery policies and
procedures. · Provide security awareness training and updates to
employees · Provide solutions to vulnerability and penetration
testing results · Create, obtain approval, and manage the
department budget to ensure the distribution of resources necessary
to maintain department operations and hardware, software and
technology infrastructure organization wide. · Responsible for
management, support and training of MFA's phone system,
smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops · Provide network
administration, troubleshooting and maintenance · Contribute to the
flow and discussion of ideas at an organization level and advocate
for continuous improvement. · Participate in activities for various
internal and external committees and strategic initiatives ·
Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as
assigned · Comply with safety regulations, procedures, and
protocols MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required in information technology related field;
advanced degree preferred. Eight years of experience in the field,
knowledge of Microsoft Windows Client and Server operating systems,
VOIP, Virtualization, and network infrastructure hardware. Ten or
more years' experience in the field preferred. Management
experience required. Conditions of Employment · Microsoft Certified
System Engineer or other relevant network administration

related to various IT needs related to the ongoing operations
organization-wide · Ability to configure, assemble, maintain and
troubleshoot hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, switches,
routers, firewall, telecommunication devices, etc.) and software
platforms · Experience in maintaining and managing business
networks · Strong knowledge of all IT security aspects related to
networking, data and internet, including disaster recovery Core
