Salary Range: $53,433 to $84,049 / Per Year Open Period: 2/1/2021 to 12/31/2021 Summary: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A graduate or higher level degree that included A physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained; and Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school. Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Note: Applicants who have completed an approved graduate level curriculum and who subsequently completed additional graduate training in a specialized field of clinical practice designed to assure professional competence to practice in the specialty meet the requirements for GS-11. Additional information concerning specialty practice areas is available at the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) website. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-9: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or masters or equivalent graduate degree -OR- 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS 7 grade level. Example of specialized experience: Administering physical therapy to generate medical and surgical patients whose condition generally involves a single disability without secondary complications; carry out full range of treatment procedures using heat, light, water, massage, therapeutic exercise, and train in the use of prosthetic devices; perform and interpret results of manual muscle and nerve tests, skin temperature and resistance tests, joint motion tests. GS-11: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree -OR- 1 year equivalent to at least GS 9 grade level. Example of specialized experience: performing and being responsible for the treatment or prevention of physical disabilities or diseases in order that patients will derive the maximum benefits from the therapeutic activities in dealing with and rehabilitating from a wide range of complex pathologies such as burns, strokes, amputation, spinal cord injuries, musculoskeletal and other medical, surgical and orthopedic pathologies.
