Job Description:
This role is located in our Albuquerque office with up to 50%
travel. Alternatively, the position can be based in Arizona or
Nevada, allowing for fully remote work with a 50% travel component.
Commnet is seeking a well-connected, relational Business
Development Executive to play a pivotal role in driving the
company's expansion and strategic initiatives. The Business
Development Executive will be responsible for assessing, pursuing,
and developing new business opportunities, developing strong
industry relationships, and ensuring the continued growth of
Commnet in the Southwest - NM, AZ, NV, CO and UT. Additionally, the
BD Director will monitor Federal, State and Local grant and other
funding opportunities to advance the Rural Broadband efforts of
Commnet. Key Responsibilities:Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential areas
for expansion and market trends.
- Analyze competitor activities and market conditions to maintain
a competitive edge.Business Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the executive team to formulate and execute
the company's growth strategy.
- Develop short-term and long-term business development plans.New
Business Opportunities:
- Identify and assess potential business opportunities, including
new markets, products, and services.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships to drive growth and
market penetration.Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Partner closely with the sales and marketing team in targeting
and securing new business contracts.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve revenue
goals.Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry
stakeholders, including government entities, telecom partners, and
potential clients.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to assess business risk and evaluate
the potential return on investment for business development
activities.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve business
development objectives.Reporting and Metrics:
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related
to business development and growth initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to the executive team on progress and
achievements.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related
field.
- 7+ years of directly related experience in business
development, in the telecommunications or broadband industry.
- Strong understanding of broadband technologies (fiber to the
premise and fixed broadband wireless), market dynamics, and
regulatory environment in the Southwest.
- Experience establishing financially viable projects based on
balancing corporate objectives, funding sources, and partner
requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills: ability to partner
effectively with internal and external stakeholders and communicate
at all levels across the organization.
- Clear motivation to help close the digital divide in Rural
America.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and manage strong business
partner relationships.
- Self-driven and self-motivated leader.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%. Desired Qualifications:
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement
growth strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling. About the

- Hiring Compensation Range: $120,000 - $150,000 (compensation
determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge,
skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment
with market data.)
- Other Compensation: This role will be eligible to participate
in the annual incentive compensation plan.
