Location: Los Alamos, NM

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and qualified Electrical Safety Officer to join our dynamic team at a national laboratory. This role is essential for ensuring that our unique electrical systems and safety protocols are strictly adhered to, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with all electrical safety regulations and policies at the national lab.
Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment and systems to identify and mitigate hazards.
Implement safety procedures and training programs aimed at minimizing risks associated with electrical operations.
Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to identify safety needs and address concerns in real-time.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on electrical safety procedures, incidents, and inspections.
Provide on-site support and actively monitor compliance during backshift and weekend operations.
Act as a primary point of contact for any electrical safety-related inquiries or incidents.

Qualifications:

Formal qualification in electrical safety or a related field is required.
Proven experience in electrical safety and hazard assessment, ideally in a laboratory or industrial setting.
Q-Clearance preferred; however, candidates who can obtain a Q-Clearance will also be considered.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills and ability to train personnel in safety protocols.
