Job Description:
Cath Lab Tech Non-Certified Cath Lab/Per Diem at Christus Health
summary: The Cath Lab Tech performs diagnostic and interventional
cardiology procedures, obtaining high-quality images for physician
interpretation. This role requires knowledge of radiographic
techniques, cardiovascular anatomy, and patient care, with
certifications including ARRT and BLS. The position involves
working in a clinical environment with exposure to body fluids and
radiation, requiring physical stamina and flexibility in
scheduling. Description POSITION SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic and
interventional procedures as requested by physicians. Provides care
for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for
interpretation by a Radiologist/Cardiologist. Requirements MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT or Board eligible, New Mexico State
licensure required. BLS certification required. For recent
graduates, BLS certification required within six months of hire.
ACLS obtained within the first year. SKILLS: • Thorough knowledge
of associated radiographic equipment, neurologic and cardiovascular
anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical
terminology and basic computer skills • Thorough knowledge of
interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred •
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
EXPERIENCE: A graduate of an accredited radiologic technology
program. One year radiologic experience preferred. NATURE OF
SUPERVISION: -Responsible to: Manager, Cath Lab ENVIRONMENT: -
Bloodborne pathogen C Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing
radiation. Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free
environment. Subject to stressful professional relationships.
Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected
changes in schedule and emergencies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifts,
positions, pushes and/or transfers patients and equipment in excess
